This event is now over
This year, Bears for Elder Welfare is hosting our first ever on-campus 5K walk and run, “A Race to Remember: 5K for Alzheimer’s,” to raise awareness and to educate about Alzheimer’s Disease, to raise funds for Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation, a charity involved in Alzheimer’s drug research, and to increase volunteerism toward individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Bears for Elder Welfare is a UC Berkeley-recognized and ASUC-sponsored student group created to improve the welfare of local elders and to cultivate elder appreciation among Berkeley students. Our goal is to promote elder well-being through efforts encouraging elder self-worth, dignity, independence, and mental stimulation. We also hope to promote campus awareness of aging issues, cultivate appreciation for elders, and increase student community service in areas pertaining to elder welfare. Our website can be found at http://b4ew.berkeley.edu/.
